Process

These are the typical stages for a full garden redesign:

1
Site Survey and Consultation
A meeting to draw up a brief for your garden, discussing your objectives, likes/dislikes and budget. Next we’ll do a site survey, measuring your garden in order to create an accurate, scaled drawing, and assessing the soil, aspect, views and existing planting.
2
Concept designs
A concept drawing will be prepared and presented to you, including the overall garden layout and giving you an idea of planting styles. This usually includes moodboards and some 3D visuals to show you how your future garden could look. It’s also an opportunity to reflect and make any changes to the design before it is finalised.
3
Final detailing and Spec
A final, detailed copy of the garden design will be presented to you, including specifications and construction drawings of any bespoke features. This level of detail allows landscapers to provide an accurate quote and helps to ensure the smooth delivery of your new garden. Irrigation and lighting systems can also be designed at this stage.
4
Monitoring the build
I can provide regular site visits and liaise with the landscaping team to provide an ongoing presence throughout the project.
5
Planting Design
A full planting plan will be designed, with plants to thrive in your garden. A detailed map is produced, showing exactly which plant goes where, and the quantities of each. Images or moodboards give you an impression of the overall scheme. Once you are happy, we can source plants for you and plant them in the ground
6
Aftercare
We can either provide maintenance instructions, or return for regular maintenance visits while your garden is establishing. This helps to ensure that your plants are kept in good health and looking good.
